Using measurement tools and calculating with various forms of measurement are important life skills. But how to make practicing these skills fun and memorable? With an escape room, of course!

Dressed as a mad scientist, I informed the students that the science lab where they worked as assistants had suffered an unfortunate accident. The good news was that all the scientists escaped before the lock down took effect. The bad news? They, the research assistants, were still trapped inside.

Students needed to use clues and solve puzzles to find four separate codes, which would unlock the boxes at four stations. Each box included a number to the master code, which allowed students to escape (and unlock a fun prize chest). Stations included working with elapsed time, weighing objects, converting between units, and finding linear measures.

Never fear! All the lab assistants escaped without harm...and with some lovely parting gifts!
