Exploring the Deep
I love it when the stars align! Learning about oceans is part of this year’s science curriculum, AND ocean exploration is this year’s FIRST Lego League theme! So we dove right in! (See what I did there? Subtle, right?)
One of our many activities while reading the book “Far from Shore” was to create artwork in the style of the author, Sophie Webb.
We don’t live near an ocean, so VR headsets will have to do for now. (Less danger of shark attacks, at least….)
Displaying our ocean animal research projects.
A field trip to COSI focused on the ocean and Titanic exhibits. The students settled on an FLL project that involved ROVs.
Kids explored the basics of how submersibles work by building and testing their own.
The FLL team began designing their prototype for their ocean exploration project.
